A number of variable requests can be processed on the DegreeValidate Portal. These requests are usually made by the following:
- Job Seekers: Candidates who want their educational claims validated by a third party in order to facilitate the processing of their employment requests. After validation such candidates are given a one off code - Risk Control Validation Code (RCVC). The candidate can present this code to employers and other verifying authorities to show that his or her the educational claims is authentic. There is a fee involved in providing this service to the candidate.
- RCVC verifiers: Employers and other verifying authorities can view and download the verified educational information about the candidate by supplying the RCVC on the DegreeValidate portal. There is presently no cost for verifying RCVC.
- Employers: Some employers want to verify certificates discreetly without the knowledge or involvement of the candidate. They can make requests on the portal, confirm their order, pay, view and download result on the portal without stress.
DegreeValidate Portal has many benefits amongst which are:
- Speed: The inability or unwillingness of a school's staff to provide quick turnaround on verifications is no longer an issue. If a degree is in our registry, the response is immediate. If a degree is not, we will ensure that your request is processed as a priority by the institution.
- Cost reduction: Using DegreeValidate reduces personnel and travel-related costs (including long-distance costs), charges incurred on telephone, follow up trips, including official verification fees by schools.
- Comprehensive Audit Trail: Account summaries and detailed records of every search made are available to the user online. Your need for constant update is therefore realised.
To get your certificate verified, kindly take the following process:
- Register your profile on this portal by clicking the "Register" link on top of this page and fill the form that displays.
- In the "User Type" field, select "Employee" option.
- After form submission, an account activation link will be sent to the email address you used during the registration. Check your mail and click on the link to activate your account.
- Login with the email and password used for registration. You will be redirected to the RCVC portal.
- Click on "Obtain RCVC".
- On the page that displays, by the bottom right, click on "Obtain RCVC".
- Follow the instructions (form wizard) thereafter to upload your bio data, educational data and scanned certificate.
To manage your certificate, log in to your account and click on "My Profile" link by the top-right area of the page that displays and do any of the following form the left pane (If you are using a mobile device, click on the navigation button on top of the page to expand the collapsed links):
- Click on "Inbox" link to view mails sent to you regarding your certificate verification.
- Click on "Pending Certificates" to view your certificate(s) that is yet to be confirmed by an admin officer. You can also notify us, through this page, of any bank deposit made by you.
- Click on "Confirmed Certificates" to view your certificate(s) that has been confirmed by an admin officer.
- Click on "GTPay Notifications" to view the status of your payment(s) on this portal through GTPay.
- Click on "Payment Notifications" to view the status of all the payment notifications you have sent to us through "Pending Certificates" page.
The procedure still remain the same as that of the immediate previous question. The differences there are as follows:
- During registration of profile data, select "Employer" in the "User Type" field.
- After logging in, click on "Verify Certificates" link on the page that you are redirected to. Then click on "Verify Certificate" link at the bottom of the page that displays.

- During registration of profile data, select "Volume Requestor" in the "User Type" field.
- After logging in, click on "Click here to get a volumn discount" link on the page that you are redirected to. Then select a plan and click on the "Buy" link at the bottom of the plan you have selected. After payment is successful, you will be credited with the number of units that comes with your plan. It is from these units that you can add certificates, i.e. for verifying one(1) certificate, one unit will be deducted from your available units.
To add a certificate, the following proccess would be taken:
- After logging in, click on the "My Profile" link at the top of the page you are redirected to.
- You would be redirected to your user portal. Click on the "Add New Certificate" link on the left pane. If you are using a mobile device, click on the navigation button on top of the page to expand the collapsed links.
- Follow the instructions (form wizard) thereafter to upload the bio data, educational data and scanned certificate.
To manage your bulk order, click on "Volume Orders" link on the left pane of your user portal. If you are using a mobile device, click on the navigation button on top of the page to expand the collapsed links.
As a company who do certificate verification on a regular basis, you can add and manage your employees profile data through your account for each of them to have a login details to this portal. In this regard, all activities carried out by them relating to plan purchase and certificate verification would be linked to your account.
